OHM is a UK company recently floated on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange offering a valuable and exciting new service to the offshore oil and gas industry. The Company's technique detects and delineates thin resistive layers that can be associated with oil and gas fields. It complements seismic data, which can identify geological structures that may contain hydrocarbons, but often not the hydrocarbons themselves.
In support of the company's on-going expansion, OHM has the following immediate vacancies in its Aberdeen,UK office:
Processing Geophysicists: To work on data processing and interpretation. A knowledge of potential field methods, and particularly active source EM or magnetotelluric data processing/interpretation, would be advantageous although not essential.
Scientific Programmer: To participate in the development of the company's suite of data processing and modelling software. Candidates should be experienced in f90/95 coding for serial and parallel applications. Knowledge in C, C++, and graphical user interface development is a plus.
Geophysical Modeller: To join our research and development team in the application of numerical methods for solving marine controlled-source and MT problems. Experience with complex signal processing methods including finite-element and finite-difference methods would be advantageous.
Candidates are expected to have a degree in mathematics or physical sciences, and programming experience.
